NYU honors superstar Taylor Swift with an honorary doctorate degree and she spoke to the graduates.

Graduates of New York University got quite a special guest speaker on Wednesday afternoon. Taylor Swift was honored and gave advice to the grads and the theme of her speech was: "Don't be afraid to screw up."

Tay Tay was given an honorary doctorate at the school's graduation ceremony and spoke of the embarrassing moments in her past and how she got past them.

"Learn to live alongside cringe. No matter how hard you try to avoid being cringe, you will look back on your life and cringe retrospectively. Cringe is unavoidable over a lifetime. Even the term ‘cringe’ might someday be deemed ‘cringe.' You can’t avoid it, so don’t try to," she told the grads. She was speaking of her time in High School as leaving after the 10th grade.

She summed things up by saying, "My experience has been that my mistakes led to the best things in my life. And being embarrassed when you mess up is part of the human experience. Getting back up, dusting yourself off and seeing who still wants to hang out with you afterward and laugh about it? That’s a gift."

Congrats to all our Grads!
