In their efforts to earn their Girl Scout Bronze Award, a troop of scouts in Florida put together -- and then delivered -- 200 "hygiene bags" for the homeless in their area.
Members of Girl Scout Troop 281 collected donations from the community and were able to fill cloth bags with toothbrushes, toothpaste, baby wipes and other hygiene items.
They then connected with a charity group that provides emergency help to people, providing food, clothing, shelter, medicine and other assistance.
Thanks to the Girl Scouts, 200 people in need can get items that help them through their day, even if they have no money. And, the extra-large bags the girls chose will be helpful for people to store their belongings.
With this project successfully completed, the Scouts are now setting their sights on other ways to earn more awards and continue to impact their community.
