Nine-year-old Hadley Gray of Phoenix, Arizona, wanted her birthday party to be special for others -- instead of herself -- so she requested no gifts, but instead asked for specific items to help both homeless people and shelter dogs.
Hadley's birthday invitation included the request for no gifts, along with a list of items she was hoping to donate -- such as pet food, blankets, toys and shampoo.
Her guests stepped up and Hadley was able to help many people and animals, including a bunch of newborn puppies.
Hadley’s mom Angella said she's extremely proud of her daughter -- and the two of them hope the birthday charity effort inspires others to help people and pets in need.
