HOW THE WEST VIRGINIA TEACHER STRIKE WILL AFFECT OTHER TEACHERS

A unscheduled school break continues for public school students in West Virginia where a teacher strike has now kept kids home for eight days.

The teachers union and state lawmakers still have not agreed on a pay raise and both sides say they don't appear to be close. Teachers and school service workers walked off the job on February 22nd after Governor Jim Justice signed a bill to give teachers a two-percent raise. West Virginia teachers, who are the lowest-paid in the country, are demanding at least a five-percent raise, as well as other benefits.
