LOOK AT THESE PICTURES: Old Dog Gets Second Chance

An elderly dog at an animal shelter in Baltimore was likely to live out the rest of her life at the shelter... that is, until a family came along looking for an elderly dog.

Older dogs are often difficult to adopt to a forever home because of their age and health problems, but the Davis family knew this -- and that's why they wanted one. Actually, it was nine-year-old Raven who really wanted one after she learned that so many older dogs are forced to live out their remaining days in a shelter.

So the family visited the shelter and immediately fell in love with an 11-year-old mix named Kaylee. Kaylee had some health problems and had been dropped off at the shelter by a family who could no longer afford her. The Davises decided to adopt Kaylee and wanted to make sure that whatever time she had left would be amazing.

Sadly, they soon found out that in addition to kidney problems, a torn ACL and other problems, Kaylee also had cancer and was given just a few months to live. The Davis family drew up a bucket list for Kaylee and vowed to cross off every item.

Kaylee was spoiled rotten, doing things like going out for ice cream, enjoying a burger, getting a doggie massage, having breakfast in bed and celebrating her birthday.

Eventually Kaylee's health took a turn for the worse. On January 15th, Kaylee enjoyed a final feast of steak and eggs and fulfilled her final bucket list wish -- "Have the best day ever and fall asleep in my mom's arms."
