Over the weekend, Matt Bentley headed out into the West Desert in Utah to enjoy some off-road driving with his dog, Bella. While out there, Matt was shocked to find another dog wandering around.
He jumped out of his Jeep and convinced the dog -- which was extremely weak and malnourished -- to get in the vehicle and go back to the city with him and Bella. Matt then took the stray to a vet, who predicted the dog had been wandering in the desert for at least three months.
Despite dealing with extreme hunger and a bunch of physical problems, the dog -- now named Kelly -- still has a sweet personality and positive outlook.
Now on the road to recovery, Kelly is being helped back to full strength and hopefully a new home by workers at an adoption center.
And, all this was made possible both by her fighting spirit and Matt Bentley, who -- against all odds -- found Kelly just in time, out in the middle of nowhere.
