According to a new study sponsored by NASA, long space flights squish the brains of astronauts.
Researchers have long known that astronauts are exposed to high levels of radiation and lose a lot of muscle mass and bone density when they're flying around in space.
But this study shows that the brain is affected also.
Almost every single astronaut in the study that spent a long time in space came back with altered brains. On the other hand, astronauts that just made quick trips didn’t have to deal with brain changes.
Something to think about as everyone's working so hard to get to Mars.
