A caring cat has become a favorite of visitors to the Sadgorod Zoo in Russia because she has adopted some orphaned baby hedgehogs.
Muska the cat has taken on the role of mother for eight newborn hedgehogs, cuddling them and even nursing them with her milk.
She truly saved the lives of the hedgehogs as the babies refused to accept food from the staff.
For the most part, things are going smoothly in this new animal family, but the cuddling and feeding can be complicated – and a bit painful – when the newborns jab Muska with their sharp quills. Getting jabbed in the belly is certainly a sacrifice, but it’s one Muska seems willing to accept to keep her kids healthy and growing.
