WOMAN IN KEMAH, TX HELPS HOMELESS BECOME HOMED

The life of a homeless man in Kemah, Texas, was completely turned around and improved recently, thanks to a woman who went out of her way to lend a helping hand.

For three years, Victor Hubbard stood on the same street corner as people drove by and stared. One day, Ginger Sprouse, who admits she was one of those people, finally decided to stop and ask why. She learned that Victor’s mother had left him, and he was waiting for her to come back and get him.

Ginger felt sorry for Victor, who revealed to her that he had been battling with mental illness, and decided to share his story with the world on a Facebook page called “This is Victor.”

She also cooked meals, washed clothes, helped him set up doctor’s appointments, and welcomed him into her home.

As Victor’s Facebook page took off, dozens of other people stepped up and volunteered to help the man.

A GoFundMe page was established to help Victor get back on his feet and, within just a few months, nearly $15,000 was raised.

Victor now has a job and was able to reconnect with his mother. He says he feels overwhelmed by the compassion shown by others and is especially thankful for the efforts Ginger made on his behalf, explaining that she “saved” him.
