Tucker Wetmore On Sign He Got From God To Pursue Country Music Career

New artist Tucker Wetmore stopped by The Bobby Bones Show for the first time to share how he’s feeling about his quick rise to fame, the sign he got from God to pursue a country music career and more!

Wetmore is starting to feel momentum in his career, especially at his live shows, but most days, he’s trying to catch up with his new busy schedule. There isn’t much in his small hometown of Kalama, Washington, so this lifestyle is new for him. Music was never the main goal for him since he was such an accomplished athlete. He won four State Championships, three in track and one in football during his senior year of High School. He played football at Montana Tech, but he dropped out after he broke his leg for the third time during spring ball his freshman year. He was red shirted his freshman year and was told he was going to be the number one receiver for the next four years. But he wasn’t feeling like himself for months, so he locked himself in the bathroom and started crying and asking God for a sign. The next day, he ran a post up the middle and broke his leg in three places. He was trying to figure out what to do with his life, and music found him again and he learned he could sing in 2019 after he moved home from college.

When he moved to Nashville, he had only visited once before. He loaded up one shipping container and packed up his car and drove to town during the pandemic at 20 years old. He didn’t know anyone in town or the layout of the city at all. He moved to an apartment across from Tin Roof on Demonbreun Street in the Midtown area of Nashville and said it was a culture shock. There were so many good musicians that he noticed quick that he had to work his ass off and started writing a lot. He went to a bunch of bars and networked himself and became friends with songwriters. Shortly after he signed his publishing deal and started writing every day for three years straight. He admitted that being a new artist is hard, but he’s putting in the effort, is 100% committed to music, and is looking forward to what’s to come!

Wetmore is opening for Thomas Rhett on his 2025 Better In Boots Tour! His new EP, Waves On A Sunset, is out now!
